Some WiFi network enable MAC address filtering and only specific MAC addresses are allowed to connect. In this case you need to modify your MAC address.
How to change your MAC address
There are three ways for Windows:
1. You can always usee Windows registry to change the MAC address. It’s kind of complicated, so we’ll just skip over it.
2. Change your MAC settings. Most network adaptors allow you to modify the MAC address. Double click on any network adaptor you want to change the MAC address, and select advanced, you will see Network address or MAC address under the parameters, now enter the new MAC address. Now confirm it and restart your computer and the new MAC address will be effective.
3. You can use other programs to change your MAC address. There is a program out there called SMAC, it’s very powerful, but easy to use. It can change nearly any MAC address of any network card on the Windows platform regardless of the manufacturer.
How to use SMAC to change the MAC address
Run SMAC, and it will list the network adaptor which is working. Select the network adaptor which you want to change, and input the MAC address under new spoofed MAC address and click update MAC. Now you just have to restart and everything is set.
